About Us

Learn and Grow Preschool is ran and taught by me, Miss Katy! I love spending time with kids and watching them learn and grow! I put myself through college at Eastern Washington University while nannying for 2 kids. I graduated in 2009 with a Bachelors of Art in Education. Majoring in reading and minoring in early childhood education. I spent a couple months teaching at a private Montessori school before finding out I was pregnant with my daughter and decided to stay home with her. I continued to nanny while being able to stay home with my kids (now 14, 12, and 8). Twelve years ago I began exploring options to create my own preschool! I like to follow my passion for reading by bringing LOTS of books into the classroom and basing our lessons and learning experiences on those books!

 Our classroom experience is based on multiple preschool philosophies! We start each morning with Circle Time. We sing, dance, and move! We practice our abc's and 123. We read books and poems and talk about our theme for the week! Snack time is an adventure on its own. From learning to serve themselves and others, to learning how to clean up after themselves, we practice it all. Next, we spend plenty of time learning through free play. Our classroom is set up with a variety of activities and toys. We firmly believe that children learn though play and need plenty of time to explore their surroundings. We also tie in a correlating craft or activity during free choice time that students have the opportunity of doing. We always try and finish out class with some playtime outside in the yard!

Class sizes are limited to 12 students so that each student receives plenty of one of one time!
